Combining her passion for panoramic and portrait photography, Debra Rapp has brought a unique product to the luxury photographic market.
Debra produces large (up to 150 cm wide) panoramic prints where the subject's domestic, corporate, or indeed leisure, setting is treated as the landscape. This enables Debra to explore the relationship between the protagonist and his or her favoured environment.
Imagine capturing your loved ones photographically in a way that immediately recalls them to you - their idiosyncrasies, their passions, their identities, in a gift that is preserved timelessly.
Whether the setting is a sitting room, a study, a kitchen, a nursery, a garden, or even a golf course, with the props as varied as children, pets, flowers, collections of treasured antiques - the possibilities are endless but the result will be personal to you and your loved ones.
A truly unique keepsake.
Debra offers two options for her panoramic portraits.
After a preparatory shoot, where Debra will explore different options and perspectives for the final shoot, Debra then uses a Linhof medium format landscape camera to photograph the subject.
Debra uses the acclaimed 'Diasec' method for the presentation of the prints, where photographs are bonded directly and permanently to acrylic sheet, without borders and eliminating the need for a traditional picture frame.
This method ensures that the clarity and clean edges of the photography are unadulterated.
Prices on application, starting from £2000.
UK and international commissions.
Digitally merged prints
A preparatory shoot will take place where Debra will explore the options and perspectives as above. Using a traditional SLR digital camera, Debra will then merge a series of digital images to produce a panoramic vista of the subjects, where the characters can populate a number of different positions or poses. This is where you can really have fun with the subject, to produce an image which will capture memories of your loved ones in a creative and thoughtful way.
This option is popular for those who are looking for a non-traditional or more quirky alternative to the family portrait.
Prices on application, starting from £1800.
In both cases, the images can be enlarged to over 150 cm long, without compromising original detail or colour. All images are printed on archival paper, which will last up to 100 years without fading.
Debra also offers a bespoke portrait photography service in North London.
Recent commissions have included corporate head shots, photo books for QC ceremonies, family Christmas cards, where Debra has worked with publishers and printers to transfer the images into the desired format.
All photographs are handprinted using archival inks and paper of the highest quality.
